Shows Page Updated; What's The Move This Weekend? | House Show Photos Out Now
We reached out to Mousch for a quick interview to get some more details about their band and music. When asked about their band's influence, the band lists many Nu-Metal/Metal bands; DRAIN, Sepultura, Avenged Sevenfold, Primer 55. and Deftones for their "evil riffs, melodic choruses, and infectious beats...". Mousch especially loves Deftones for their unique sound that "appeals to the listeners that aren't very heavy into the type of genre.".
While adding bands onto Lunchbox's "AMAZING" and "TOTALLY UP-TO-DATE" Band Database, viewers recommend Mousch for their unique style and commitment to the scene over the past few years. I caught them LIVE a few days ago, and the in-person experience hits way harder than anything you'll get from a CD or streaming. A grungy, groove-heavy distortion that shakes you from head to toe. What really sets them apart is how they rotate vocalists for each track, giving every song its own unique energy and vibe.
"...groovy drum beats and distorting effects brings a very "mousch" metal presence to our sound and our major expression of energy brings that same presence to the stage." - Mousch
Over the past few years, the San Antonio scene has shifted, from a Metal/Hardcore to a focus on Metalcore and Emo, while Hardcore remains as strong as ever. In the middle of all this, the band found themselves somewhat overlooked, rarely hitting the stage in their own city until recently. People might have different takes on why that is, but at the end of the day, it's just part of the scene, evolving.
"Unfortunately, sometimes if your band don't play pig squeals or have spring reverb and chorus, they just don't like you, and it sucks to say but that's just how it is." - Mousch
Mousch, despite being left behind, never hit pause. Behind the scenes, they kept refining their sound and laid the groundwork for a strong comeback. Now, they're reappearing more & more on weekend show lineups. With this fresh new energy, the band is looking to collaborate with more artists in the scene and help reignite the spark that once has.
As Mosuh isn't just reclaiming their place, they're redefining it. With raw energy, evolving sound, and a hunger to connect, they're ready to shake up the scene all over again. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to them, now's the time to tune in; because Mosuh isn't just back. They're just getting started.
